In-Pool Chiropractic Care

In-Pool Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy

“A healthy nervous system is the key to getting real results on the journey for better health. Chiropractic will not only release muscle tension and restore joint function, but it will take stress off of the nervous system allowing better communication between your brain and your body. Adjusting in the water is the answer for patients who need an easier way to relax, and a physically stress free manual therapy” - Dr. Christian Brix, Chiropractor

Did you know that chiropractic care can be provided in the pool?

Dr. Michelle specializes in performing gentle Chiropractic treatment both in or out of the water.

Water provides the optimal conditions for manipulation, as weightlessness relieves muscle tension while adjustments are made.

Adjustments

  • Chiropractic manipulative therapy involves adjusting of appropriate joints in an effort to release muscle tension and relieve chronic pain.
  • Adjustments are tailored to the individual and involve any combination of manual therapy, soft tissue therapy, and “Activator” methods.

Relax/Release/Retention

  • In-pool adjusting allows for optimum relaxation as patients are in an essentially weight-less position, in warm therapeutic water.
  • Adjustments activate sensors in muscles that cause them to release/relax.
  • Weight-less positions de-activate muscle proprioceptors allowing for decreased interference by muscles. This creates optimal conditions for reception and retention of the adjustment.

Neurological Function

  • Spinal adjustments also allow spinal nerves to carry signals from the central nervous system to the rest of the body without chemical or physical interference. This allows for increased neurological function.

Healing Treatments

  • With proper spinal alignment, muscles are bilaterally symmetrical allowing for proper healing, increased function, optimal performance and faster recovery.
  • Case specific management by the doctor allows participants/patients to receive the exact treatment program they require, and the most comfortable technique available.
